I just paid for a new battery - Land Rover 2002 Freelander question Discussion in 'LR3 ' started by Rover ... got in it Tuesday and when I tried to start it, it turned over about three times then clicked. Won't start, need help quick. The glow plug light does not turn on as usual on the dash! It won't even turn over though, I have power to the rest of the truck, starter just wont go. LR3 SE wont start. When I turn the key in the ignition to the first position the head lights etc will all come on so its not a battery kind of problem. got it going yesterday but when i went to start it later same problem all over again. Turning it On the radio functions, as does lights etc - jump start tried same results. On the 100'th time it will spin the engine, and when it starts I can then stop the engine, start it again and the starter still works. You twist the ignition key to start your engine, and instead of the syncopated whirling of a cranking starter and crankshaft, you hear a click or a series of chatter like clicks. Yesterday, was driven +/- 150 km no issues, starting on its own etc Charged battery not sure next steps. Dealership cannot fix until 3 days - Answered by a verified Auto Mechanic Tried new relay and it didn't work. LR3 Won't start!!! i turn the key, hear one click but thats it.
